No. That's not romantic. A good relationship shouldn't involve someone giving up their dreams. You are expecting too much of him if that's what you believe. But everyone makes a choice. Sometimes those decisions work with relationships, but sometimes they work against them. If you love him and it is apparent that this is what he really wants to the point where he feels compelled to go ahead with it, then it'd be better to let him go to do it if you don't want the same thing. Maybe some will disagree with me but I can't see how it can work otherwise.

Regarding moving on and forgeting, i am so worried that i am just going to push it all under the carpet as i dont have closure and totally balls in it up in teh future. Would I feel a little jealous? Maybe, but mostly I would loose respect for him for jumping into a relationship so soon after a breakup. It wouldn't make me want him back any more. Actually, when my ex who wanted me back (about a year after he broke up with me) told me he was interested in someone else, my response was along the lines of, "Well, why don't you ask her on a date." The tiny pang of jealousy was far outweighed by the relief that he might be someone else's problem to deal with.

yea i got that, but my rhetorical questions were to get her out of a victim mentality. I dont know OPs emotional background, but the few threads she has started in just this week scream for help. So my questions were to show her she can choose to view herself as being used, when nothing she wrote even pointed to that.
